Workspaces explained
Workspaces are a shared space between your organization and an external organization. Use cases include sales rooms, implementation plans, and client portals.
This guide covers the following:
Workspace analytics & notifications
Pro tip: Connect with Dock MCP to create and edit workspaces from your favorite AI tool
Creating workspaces
Go to the Workspace dashboard (or use quick actions from homepage)
2. Select Template that admin has created for your organization
Templates are the recommended way to use workspaces. If you don't see a template, make the organization's first workspace yourself.
3. Select Account
Dock pulls in accounts and opportunities from your CRM. If you don’t see your account, you can always create a new one.
4. Review details and Create workspace
Make sure the Title and Logo look good.
Editing workspaces
The template should get you 90% of the way there, but you have the ability to customize the workspace before sharing with customers.

2. Grab the Copy link to get the share link

Access settings
When sharing workspaces, you have a number of different access settings available (anyone with the link, restricted, magic link, login with Google, etc.) with different levels of security. Learn more →
Navigating Workspaces
Workspaces have three views.
Internal is where you will find information such as: details about the workspace, key start/due dates for your project, an activity feed showing what action has been taken in that space, internal/external participation analytics, and any plans that have been configured.
Editor is where you will actually create the experience for your customers or prospects.
Shared is the external view that those end users will experience. While those people will have access to information and can collaborate in places, they won't be able to make significant changes to the workspace (such as adding or removing sections).
Workspace analytics
Workspaces are designed around a share link. When client users visit the share link, you get analytics around their activity.
The activity can be found on the Internal tab of a workspace.
We'll show you a summary of activity along with breakdowns by people, pages, and assets.
Workspace Notifications
Dock will send the Workspace owner notifications via email (and Slack) when a workspace has engagement
Notification types
Workspace View: Receive an email each time a workspace is viewed.
Workspace Hot:
Workspace Cooling:
Workspace Comments & Messages: When a workspace visitor comments on a task or section, or if they use the messaging component. This is a hardcoded notification type that you cannot turn off at this time.
Workspace File Uploads: If a workspace visitor uploads a file anywhere in the space (i.e. in a task or file uploader). This is a hardcoded notification type that you cannot turn off at this time.
