Creating first workspace

How to approach creating workspaces

Step 1: Pick your use case

The first step is to pick a use case:

  1. Sales room

  2. Customer implementation

  3. Customer portal

Once you have a use case in mind, then you'll be ready to build.

Step 2: Gather existing collateral

Workspaces bring together all your existing client-facing in one place for customers. Organize all the PDFs, videos, links, and more that you share with customers. Then you'll be ready to build a workspace.

Pro tips:

  1. For sales rooms, use the collateral from your demo follow up email

  2. For implementations, get the assets from your onboarding kickoff

Step 3a: Ask Dock AI to create first draft

Dock AI makes a first draft based on your prompt, source materials, and website.

  1. Go to the Homepage and Ask AI

    1. Or go to Workspace page and click "Create workspace"

  2. Add your prompt and upload source materials

  3. Select a customer account

4. Once you have a first draft, ask AI to to refine or just use the built-in editor

5. When you're ready, publish and share with a customer or turn this workspace into a template for the rest of your team to use.

Step 3b: Start from a Dock Template

Dock has a ton of great templates to start from.

  1. In the side navigation, go to Workspace > Templates

  2. You'll see the Dock templates at the top of the page

3. Once you select a template, then just click "Use template"

4. The Dock template will be added as your own Template

5. Make edits using AI or our built-in editor. When you're done, click "Publish" to activate this template.

6. In order to use this template with a customer, go to the Workspace page and click "Create workspace." You'll see this template listed as an option.
