Overview
Admins can upload PowerPoint files to help build slide templates reps will use to create their presentations from. Within them, you can add variables to images or text elements to add placeholders for where the reps should customize.
There are two methods for this:
You can add in a dynamic variable (i.e. {{account_name}}) directly to the slide as a text. This is a plain text field and should be used for small updates to a slide such as a customer name or datapoint.
Leverage Alt Text. This can be used for a bigger text box (i.e. challenge bullet points) or an image. It can be a rich text field when editing.
This puts placeholders on slides that reps can then easily customize when creating slide presentations.
Adding a Simple Dynamic Variable
Simply type in the variable in the {{x}} format as text to the slide:
Adding an Alt Text field in PowerPoint
First, make sure you have your PowerPoint file open!
Step 1: Right click on an image or text box
Step 2: Select View Alt Text...
Step 3: Set the Alt Text in the sidebar
The variable can be named whatever you want but must be in the following format contained by brackets: {{variable}}
What does this look like in Dock?
As the rep creates and edits their presentation (guidance here), they will see any slide that has variables. By clicking on the slide, they can adjust those variables on the right-hand side to customize their slides.
