Slack: Syncing Workspace Notifications with Shared Channels

Push workspace notifications to shared channels with customers

Updated over a year ago

Overview

Dock works with Shared Channels and Slack Connect, enabling your team to sync specific Dock Workspaces with Slack Channels. This is designed to support shared channels with customers!

The updates from the Dock workspace (i.e. comments and mutual plan changes) will be pushed to the channel and, from Slack, users will be able to view changes, leave comments and quickly access the workspace.

Syncing Slack Channels with New Workspaces

Step 1: Create a new Workspace

Step 2: From the form, add an existing Slack channel or create a new one.

After publishing the workspace, any updates to a project plan or comments will be pushed to the channel.

Syncing Slack Channels with Existing Workspaces

Step 1: Navigate to an existing workspace.

Step 2: Make sure you're on the Internal tab. Within the About this Workspace section, you'll see Slack.

Step 3: Select an existing Slack Channel or create a new one.

Now, any updates to a project plan or comments will be pushed to the channel

Managing Channels and Notification Types

Choose the type of notifications to send to Slack channels by navigating to the Slack settings page. From there, you can toggle on/off specific notification types.

From this page, you can also manage which Slack channels are connected to specific workspaces.
