Dock AI Settings

Manage context and permissions across Dock AI

Overview

Dock AI Settings gives admins one place to control how Dock AI works across your team. From here you can manage Agents, set company-wide instructions and context, choose which data sources Dock AI can draw from when chatting with Dock AI, control AI Chat in workspaces and playbooks, and decide who can build Agents.

Navigating to Settings

Step 1: Click Dock AI in the left nav.

Step 2: Click Settings in the top right corner.

Step 3: Select a page from the settings menu: Agents, General instructions, Company context, Sources, AI Chat, or Permissions.

Agents

The Agents page shows every Agent available to your team. Use the tabs to filter the list:

  • All agents — every Agent you have access to

  • [Your company] agents — Agents built and shared by your team

  • My agents — Agents you've created, including drafts

  • Dock agents — prebuilt Agents from Dock, like MEDDIC, Deal Review, and Executive Summary

You can also use Search agents, Output type, and Owners to narrow the list. To build a new one, click Create agent in the top right and follow this article.

General instructions

General instructions let you tell Dock AI how it should work with your team — think tone, formatting preferences, terminology, or anything you'd want every response to follow.

Turning on Enable company memory applies your company instructions and context across Dock AI.

Company context

Company context gives Dock AI background on your business so responses and practice roleplays reflect how you sell. This context applies across all of Dock AI, including chat, Agents, and Practice.

Fields include:

Field

What to include

Company name and Website

Your company's name and URL

Company description

A short explanation of what you do and the value you provide

Products and services

What you sell, with brief descriptions

Target customers

Industries, company sizes, and characteristics of a good fit

Buyer personas

Typical buyers, champions, and users; their priorities

Customer problems and outcomes

Problems you solve and results customers want

Key differentiators

Why customers choose you over alternatives

Competitors

Names, websites, and brief positioning notes

Generating your company context

Don't want to start from scratch? Dock AI can draft your company context from your website.

Step 1: Enter your company's URL in the Website field.

Step 2: Click Generate context in the top right.

Step 3: Review and edit the drafted fields, then click Save changes.

💡 Treat the generated context as a starting point. Adding specifics your website doesn't cover — like your real buyer personas and the problems you hear on calls — makes Dock AI's responses much more accurate.

Sources

The Sources page lets admins turn on or off the data sources Dock AI can draw from across all Agents. Each source can be toggled independently.

💡 The more sources you have active, the more context Dock AI has to work with. We recommend keeping all sources on unless there's a specific reason to restrict one.

Wiki

Under Wiki, you can connect to your company knowledge base so Dock AI can search its contents. Confluence and Notion are supported.

Note: Notion is authenticated by rep to ensure we're only referencing data that they have visibility into. Confluence is set up at an admin level.

AI Chat

Dock AI has an external, customer-facing AI Chat that can be added to workspaces and playbooks. The AI Chat page has two master settings:

  • Workspace and Playbook AI Chat — turns AI Chat on or off everywhere. When off, AI Chat is hidden on all published workspaces and playbooks.

  • Let workspaces set up their own AI Chat — allows AI Chat to be configured on individual workspaces. When off, AI Chat is set from the workspace template.

Permissions

The Permissions page controls who in your organization can build Agents. By default, only Admin is selected. Expanding permissions here is what allows non-admin users to create and share company Agents.

Click the dropdown to configure access. You can grant permissions by role or by individual teammate:

  • Roles — select Admin to restrict Agent creation to admins only, or add Standard to open it up to all users.

  • Teammates — use Search teammates... to find and select specific individuals, giving them Agent creation access regardless of their role.
