Overview
Dock AI is a built-in chat experience users can interact with to do things like find a piece of content, draft emails, create a Dock workspace, and more.
At its core are Agents. Think of it as a templatized AI assistant with a saved set of instructions that shapes how Dock AI responds to a specific type of question or task. It has a specific set of instructions and focus areas, a set of sources to draw from, and a preferred response format, and it will apply those consistently every time it's used.
How It Works as an End User
There are two ways to get started with Dock AI:
Option 1: Simply type in your question or prompt directly.
Dock AI will automatically select the best Agent to handle it.
Option 2: Choose an Agent first, then ask your question.
Browse the available Agents, select the one most relevant to what you're trying to do, and then enter your prompt.
π‘ We recommend selecting an Agent before asking your question when possible. Since each Agent has a specific set of instructions and sources, the output tends to be more accurate and better formatted.
Types of Agents
There are three types of Agents in Dock:
These are pre-built Agents provided by Dock to help you get started right away. They cover common use cases out of the box and are available to everyone in your organization.
These are Agents built by your org and shared across the entire organization. If your team has specific workflows, data sources, or response formats they rely on, admins can create Company Agents tailored to those needs.
Admins (and any users who have been granted the appropriate permissions) can create Agents only visible to themselves. These are not shared with the rest of the organization.
