How to create a page template

Updated this week

Overview

You'll find three types of templates within Dock:

  • Workspace templates: an entire space (i.e. a deal room) with multiple pages, and sections on each page.

  • Section templates: smaller blocks of content that make up a page.

  • Page templates: an entire page, which can be composed of several sections.

By creating a page template, you can then easily add it to existing workspaces or workspace templates. In the article below, we'll walk through how to do so.

Where to Find Page Templates

On the lefthand side of your screen, you'll see a section for Templates. If you select that, you'll be taken to see where these types live.

Simply click on the Pages tab to see any of your existing page templates.

Saving a Page as a Template

Step 1: Navigate to an existing workspace (the editor view) or workspace template.

Step 2: Find the page. Click on the three dots to the right of the page title.

Step 3: From the dropdown, select Save as template.

Step 4: Name your template to find later, confirm the page title, select a Shared setting, and decide if you want to be synced (locked down) or editable by the rep. Only admins will be able to share templates with "Everyone."

Adding a Page Template to an Existing Space

Step 1: Navigate to an existing workspace (the editor view) or workspace template.

Step 2: On the top nav bar, click the + to add a new page.

Step 3: From the dropdown, select From template page.

Step 4: Find and select the appropriate page, then click Add to Workspace and select synced or editable.
