Message Threads

Messaging within Workspaces

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Overview

Within a Workspace, you can leverage the Threads functionality to have a conversation. Threads include one-off messages and any comments made throughout the workspace. In the article below we'll show you how to leverage messages, which are a more formal side of threads.

There are a handful of use cases we've seen for when to use these:

  • As a nurture point between conversations

  • Project updates

  • Ad hoc conversations

  • As a Q&A thread

  • For an internal thread with someone else on your team

Creating a New Message

To create a new message, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Navigate to the Editor or Shared view of a Workspace.

Step 2: Click the button on the top right titled Threads.

Step 3: Click New

Step 4: Write your title and message and post!

Notifications

You'll be notified via email when a thread is made by a customer, but you'll also see an icon when you click into the space:

Subscribing to a Message Thread

Every message has subscribers, who receive email notifications when there is activity within the thread. By default, this is the Workspace owner and whoever created the initial message. You can add anyone as a subscriber manually, as needed.

Integrating Messages into Slack

Messages can also be posted to a Slack channel. Check out the instructions here on how to setup the Slack integration.

Internal Messages

Teams may also leverage internal messages within the Editor view. These require a login to your account to view and are most common when collaborating with a team member on a customer or prospective account.

Who can Create and Respond to Messages?

  • Collaborators can create new messages.

  • Anybody in the workspace can comment to respond to the initial message.
