Library Settings

How to manage tags, views and content sources in the Library

Overview

Admins can configure advanced settings to help manage how content in the Dock Library is organized, tagged, and kept up to date. Create custom tags, review saved views, adjust AI and formatting preferences, and connect external content sources like Google Drive, SharePoint, and RSS feeds.

Navigating to Library Settings

Step 1: Navigate to the Library (found on the lefthand side).

Step 2: Click Manage in the top right corner.

Don't see the Manage button? You'll need to be an Admin of Dock.

From here, you'll see six tabs across the top of the screen: Tags, Views, Settings, Google Drive, SharePoint, and RSS Feeds. Each is covered below.

Tags

Each asset in your library can be tagged to help your team sift through content. The Tags tab shows every tag currently in your account and is also where you can create new ones to help categorize.

To Create Tags

Step 1: Click Create tag in the top right.

Step 2: Enter a name for the tag.

Step 3: Click Create.

There is no limit to the number of tags you can create and each asset can be tagged with as many as you'd like!

Views

The Views tab lists every saved view in your library. From here, you can filter by owner and team, adjust each view's visibility settings, and delete views.

To learn more about creating and customizing views, check out Library Views.

Settings

The Settings tab controls how Dock's AI assists with new content, and how Google and Microsoft files are formatted when added to the library.

AI

  • Auto-tag new assets with existing tags

  • Write descriptions. AI will look at the actual content you've updated (text on PDFs, transcripts behind videos, etc) to generate a description.

Tip: Create the tags you plan to use before turning on Auto-tag and adding new content, so Dock has existing tags to apply.

Google & MSFT Documents

  • Format Embeds as PDF

This formats web-based Google slides, docs, etc and web-based Microsoft powerpoint and excel documents as PDFs. We highly recommended turning this on since it bypasses access restrictions on the original file. Dock will still sync from the source so the files are updated in real time.

Google Drive

  • Connect Dock to Google Drive to auto-sync entire folders.

For step-by-step instructions, see Importing Content from Google Drive.

SharePoint

  • Connect Dock to Microsoft SharePoint to sync entire sites into the library.

For step-by-step instructions, see Import Content from Microsoft SharePoint.

RSS Feeds

  • Connect the Dock library to an RSS feed (like a blog or product announcements page) to automatically pull in new content.

For step-by-step instructions, see RSS Feeds and the Dock Library.
