Creating a Course

How to create and edit a Dock course

Updated this week

Overview

Courses help you systematize how you onboard new hires, roll out product training, or develop key skills like discovery and objection handling. Learn more about them here!

In the article below, we'll show you how to create and edit your first course.

As a reminder, only Admins or SuperAdmins of Dock can create courses. It is also only available on our Enterprise plan.

Creating a New Course

Step 1: Click into Courses under your Learning section on the left-hand nav bar

Step 2: Click Create Course on the top right

Step 3: Provide a Title and Description

Structuring Your Course

The course builder uses the same drag-and-drop editor you already know from Dock workspaces and playbooks. Embed videos, slides, library assets, and more to build rich, interactive lessons.

Modules (aka Pages)

Think of each page at the top as a Module. These are essentially lessons within a course are structured and sequential.

Reps have to complete each module before moving on to the next—so you can control the exact learning sequence!

Customizing Each Module

Within each of the pages / modules, you can add in sections to customize the context. Embed videos, slides, library assets, and more to build rich, interactive lessons. There are also some unique widgets specific to courses: Quizzes and Flashcards.

Quizzes

Quizzes can be added to any lesson. Questions can be multiple-choice, multiple-select, or free-response, with the option of manager review.

Flashcards

Flashcards can be added to lessons for quick knowledge reinforcement. Reps can quickly assess their own knowledge of product differentiators, competitive positioning, discovery questions, or pricing details.

You can reuse lessons, quizzes, and flashcards across multiple courses, so you're not rebuilding the same content from scratch every time.

Publish Your Course

Remember to publish your course when you're done making changes!
