Using Dock with Claude via MCP

How to use Dock MCP with Claude

Dock MCP is in beta. Some features may behave unexpectedly — contact support if you run into issues.

Connect Dock to Claude so you can search workspaces, find assets, manage deal rooms, and take action in Dock without leaving Claude.

Required plan: Claude Pro, Team, or Enterprise

What you can do

  • Find deal rooms and workspaces by account, rep, stage, or template

  • Search the Dock content library by topic, format, or keyword

  • Pull everything Dock has on a specific account in one query

  • Add or update asset tags in bulk

  • Create new workspaces and apply templates

  • Ask cross-cutting questions across your book of business ("Which deal rooms haven't been updated in 30 days?")

  • Interact with your Dock custom agents

More capabilities are on the way. Tell us what you'd like to do with Dock MCP at [email protected]

Admin setup

Admins complete this once. Users then connect individually with their own Dock credentials.

Step 1: Add the connector in Claude.ai

  1. Log in to Claude as a Team or Enterprise admin.

  2. Click Plus button → Manage connectors.

3. Click Plus button and Add custom connector

4. Fill in the following to add custom connector

  • Name: Dock

  • URL: https://api.dock.us/mcp

  • Transport: Streamable HTTP (default)

The admin setup is done. The Dock connector will be available in your team's Claude. Each member of your team will need to follow the instructions below to start using Dock MCP.

User authentication

Each user authenticates once with their own Dock account.

  1. Open a new chat in Claude

  2. Click the + icon in the message composer and select Manage Connectors.

3. Find Dock in the list and click Connect.

4. A browser window will open to Dock's authorization page.

5. Log in with your Dock credentials if not already logged in.

6. Review the requested permissions and click Continue.

7. You'll be redirected back to Claude. Dock will show as Connected.

The connection is scoped to your individual Dock permissions — Claude can only access what your Dock account can access.

Enabling Dock in a conversation

Dock must be toggled on in each new conversation:

  1. Click the + icon in the message composer.

  2. Select Connectors and toggle Dock on.

Or you can just tell Claude to use Dock (e.g. Find me all the workspaces that I own in Dock. Use Dock to find a case study for Acme)

You only need to do this once per conversation. Claude will use Dock automatically for any relevant queries in that session.

Asking questions

Once Dock is connected and enabled, use plain language. No special syntax required — Claude will call the right Dock tools automatically.

Example prompts:

  • "Find the deal room for Salesforce."

  • "What assets do we have tagged 'onboarding'?"

  • "Show me all workspaces created this month."

  • "What's in the Stripe workspace?"

  • "Tag the three security one-pagers with 'enterprise'."

  • "Which deal rooms haven't been updated in the last 30 days?"

  • "Find a playbook template for new customer onboarding."

For actions that change data in Dock (creating workspaces, adding tags), Claude will show you exactly what it plans to do and ask you to confirm before executing.

Permissions

The connector respects your existing Dock permissions. If you don't have access to a workspace or asset in Dock, Claude won't be able to retrieve it through the connector either.

FAQ

Can I use this in Claude Code or the Claude mobile app? Yes. If you've connected Dock on claude.ai, it's automatically available in Claude Code when you're signed in with your Claude.ai subscription. The mobile app uses the same connector infrastructure.

Do I need to reconnect after a while? If your session expires, you'll see a prompt to re-authorize. Go to Settings → Connectors, find Dock, and click Connect again.

Is my Dock data sent to Anthropic? Tool results — workspace names, asset titles, account data — pass through Anthropic's infrastructure as part of your conversation. Your Dock credentials are never stored; only an OAuth token scoped to your session. Review Anthropic's privacy policy for full details.

What Dock plan do I need? Dock MCP is available on all plans
